2017 Year End Clinic with Jacquie brooks
November 18 & 19, 2017
Two-time Olympian Jacqueline Brooks will be our guest clinician for the two-day clinic event as well as our keynote speaker at the Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday evening. The clinic will be held at Apple Knoll Farm in Millis, MA.
Jacquie has been a dressage competitor, trainer, and coach for more than 20 years. She has qualified for six Canadian teams: once for the PanAm Games where she won a Team Silver Medal, once for the World Equestrian Games, twice for the World Cup Finals, and two Olympic games on two different horses - Gran Gesto in 2008 and D-Niro (a.k.a. Goose) in 2012. She has trained more than 15 dressage horses to Grand Prix and is an Equine Canada certified Competition Coach Specialist who has helped numerous young riders and adult competitors in dressage and eventing. Most recently, Jackie coached the 2016 NAJYR Dressage Champion, Nicholas Hansen, who won all three of his dressage tests! Jackie is known for her sense of humor, her joyful spirit, and the mutual adoration between her and Goose.
Riders for this clinic are chosen by lottery draw. The clinic is open to juniors, adult amateurs, and professionals, at training level and as individual entries or as one semi private team entry. We are reserving one lesson slot each day for junior riders. Juniors not drawn for the junior slot will be added back into the lottery for their corresponding drawing group. Riders may enter lottery with only one individual horse/rider combination OR as one semi private team (you cannot enter as an individual AND as a semi private team nor can you enter on another horse).
There will be a separate rider draw for each day. You may submit entries for both days if you want to try to ride both days. To submit an entry for both days, send two separate checks in case your name is only drawn for one of the days. If you only want to ride one day but do not have a preference as to which day, select the “either” option on the entry form. Your name will be added to the day with fewer entries. The lottery will be drawn at the November 7th monthly meeting, and all are welcome to attend.
You must be a current CRDA member in good standing to submit an entry for the year-end clinic. If you not a current CRDA member, you may join at the same time you submit your clinic entry. Your membership will cover the remainder of 2017 and all of 2018. Complete the membership form and send a separate check for the membership fee.
All are welcome to audit. Fees are $15 for CRDA members, $25 for non-members, and juniors audit for FREE. If you’re not a current CRDA member, you can sign up at the clinic and receive the member auditing rate. Pre-registration for auditing is not required.
Lessons are $150 for adults and $100 for juniors for a 45-minute private session, semi private team member prices are $100 per adult and $75 per junior. There will be no more than two semi-private lessons each day of the clinic. Semi private teams must be two individuals, Riding at the SAME level, signing up together as ONE entry. If your entry is not drawn for the clinic your check will be shredded. Day stalls and overnight stabling are available for an additional fee.
