CRDA - Who we are - Year-End Awards Criteria

CRDA offers a year-end awards program to competitors.  Awards are given for the following divisions:

Intro Level (any test): Average of 3 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN)

Training Level (any test): Average of 3 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN)

First Level (any test): Average of 3 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN)

Second Level and Above: Average of 3 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN)

Musical Freestyle: Average of 2 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN)

Leadline: Average of 2 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR ONLY)

Above Leadline: Average of 2 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR ONLY)

USEA TOC: Average of 3 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN)

Riders w/Disabilities: Average of 3 highest scores at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN)

Vintage: 50 to 59 Years of age – 3 scores by 2 different judges, all scores used. (all divisions rated together).

Tower Hill Master: 60+ Years of age – 3 scores by 2 different judges, all scores used. (all divisions rated together).

Overall High Point: Combination of all scores received at a minimum of 2 shows by 2 different judges (JR, AA, OPEN).

Competitors must meet the following criteria to receive a year-end award:

  • Note that due to the new 2011 USEF dressage tests, the award categories have changed. In each level, rider’s eligible scores are taken from any of the tests available at that level.
  • Rider must be a member of CRDA in good standing (dues paid and up to date prior to the show date) for scores to count.
  • Must have contributed at least 4 hours of volunteer time to CRDA during the year and RETURNED AND SIGNED VOLUNTEER FORM to Carol Burkhart by November 1, 2011.
  • Horse/rider combination must compete in a minimum of 2 CRDA shows in the same division, with two different judges, during the 2011 show year. The combination's top 3 scores from a minimum of 2 different shows will be used to determine divisional year-end placing.
  • Overall awards are combination of all scores during the 2011 year; with a minimum of 3 scores from 2 CRDA shows with 2 different judges.
  • Any person (junior or senior) who gives riding instruction, and/or receives compensation for riding or training, is considered a professional and, as such, is only eligible for Open classes.
  • Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons will be given in each division if entries warrant.
  • Awards and other honors will be presented at the Annual Banquet.
  • Musical Freestyle, Leadline Class and Above Leadline Class will be based on average of 2 highest scores.
  • Awards will be divided into Open, Junior, Adult Amateur, Musical Freestyle.
  • Masters Year End Award is sponsored by Tower Hill Farm.
  • Note: Riders 50 – 59 are eligible for the Vintage award, while those 60 and over are eligible for the Tower Hill Masters award. Riders are not eligible to win in both categories.
